According to their company guidelines to always work with the highest possible quality standards, the company Hilscher Gesellschaft für Systemautomation GmbH has implemented VertiGIS technology as a digital facility management system. VertiGIS’ web-based CAFM (computer-aided facility management) solution was chosen to streamline decision-making processes as well as to support the company’s certification according to the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
To provide information that is relevant for production and development and grant access around the clock and from everywhere, Hilscher decided to create a centralized IT platform. This platform was also to allow for the transparent consolidation of all information relevant for maintenance processes. An intuitive, clear and flexibly adaptable application was to be the basis of this project.
Quick System Deployment and Training of Employees
VertiGIS Facility Management technology was implemented with the central modules “maintenance” and “object management”. Data import of all data relevant for fire protection could be finished within only three weeks and shortly after also for all facility management relevant data. The deployment of the solution was done on on-premises servers. All employees will get training and access to the application, that is managed by a role-bases user management.
Further Extension Plans for the Future
After the successful implementation and start-up phase, the system could be extended with the module “vehicle fleet” already in July 2020. An ongoing extension as well as the integration of SAP and further tools are already planned.
Perfectly Happy Project Team
Marc Schmidt, who manages the project at Hilscher is very happy with the results and application: “The platform facilitates our every-day tasks as important information is accessible in one central location. We learn new things about further visualization options every day. The swift project implementation was only possible by the flexible and close collaboration with the VertiGIS Team. Everyone could be instantly reached when questions arose, and quick support was always available.”
