Proximity Analysis with FME: Building an Open Space Report for LGAs

Understanding how well residents are served by parks and open space is a core planning question for every council. This session walks through building an automated Open Space report using FME, combining Vicmap address data with Vicmap Open Space datasets to calculate proximity, coverage, and accessibility across a Local Government Area.

We’ll cover the spatial analysis techniques involved, and show how the results can be packaged into a clear, repeatable report suitable for understanding a council’s ease of access to open spaces. You’ll leave with a practical template for turning open spatial datasets into decision-ready insight for your own council.
