Challenge
Several years ago, as ENTEGA Medianet prepared for a large-scale fiber-optic expansion across Southern Hesse, the company faced a challenge familiar to many network operators. Its network documentation was scattered across multiple systems, including Excel spreadsheets, PDFs, and various other data sources. On top of that, a significant portion of operational knowledge resided with individual employees. As the organization continued to grow and the demands for transparency and efficiency increased, ENTEGA Medianet made a clear decision: to establish a single, integrated digital solution for network documentation.
Solution
Working closely with VertiGIS, ENTEGA Medianet implemented VertiGIS ConnectMaster in phases as its central platform for network documentation. A key factor in the decision was its ability to model and document the entire infrastructure end-to-end, from the physical network layer to the services delivered across it. Rather than pursuing a traditional “big bang” implementation, the company chose an agile approach. This method delivered tangible results early while continuously involving end users throughout the project. As a result, ENTEGA Medianet secured strong user adoption and could continue to refine the system during the rollout.
Results
Today, ENTEGA Medianet operates on a single, centralized digital data foundation and benefits from significantly more efficient processes. Information that once had to be gathered manually from multiple sources is now readily available, transparent, and easily traceable. The resulting high data quality provides complete visibility across the network infrastructure while supporting broader initiatives such as professional asset management and strategic decision-making.
By building a reliable digital foundation, ENTEGA Medianet has strengthened its ability to sustain continued fiber deployment throughout the region and is actively shaping the future of digital infrastructure.
