As you and your family prepare to sit down around the Thanksgiving table, enjoy some delicious food (depending on who’s doing the cooking, we suppose!), and give thanks, we at Mapcom also want to pause and reflect on all that we are thankful for this year. Without a doubt we have many blessings…too many to name! But we want to share with you just a few of the many things we are grateful for this year.
- We are thankful to be a part of a wonderful industry! Visiting our clients, partners and friends at various meetings and conventions throughout the year gives us the opportunity to chat with you all, understand your needs, and ultimately serve you better. We understand the great work the folks in the communications industry do that allows us to connect across the country and around the world.
- We are thankful for our employees! We strive to never forget the fact that we started as a company of about 10 people and grew to almost 100. Every day we are surrounded by some of the best minds and hearts in the industry, with everyone here working toward a common goal. It feels great to work and play with such wonderful people, each and every one of them a leader and an asset to our Richmond community. Without them, it wouldn’t be possible to serve you as we do.
- We are thankful for the charities we support! As leaders in the community we try to always help those less fortunate and we’re so grateful for the many charities we support, as they make our community a better place for all. We are thankful for the work of FRS (the Foundation for Rural Service) who seeks to educate the public about the benefits of a nationwide telecommunications network, focusing especially on rural connectivity as it relates to education and development. We’re also thankful for the charities we support here in the office; from the Movember Project, to Toys for Tots, Comfort Zone Camp, and Kayak for the Warriors, we’re thankful that these organizations facilitate making our community and our country a better place.
- We are thankful for our clients! We say it all the time, but especially on Thanksgiving we want you to know that each and every one of you are the reason we come to work each day. We strive to never lose sight of the fact that the work you do allows communities, students, and families to connect, and that value is immeasurable. Whether it’s at our Users Conference, while training, at an industry meeting, or here on-site we truly love connecting with you and learning how we can serve you better so that you can continue to serve your community and change the world.
